Let’s talk about GIFs.

According to TechTerms, GIFs stands for “Graphics Interchange Format.” GIF is an image file format commonly used for images on the web and sprites in software programs. Unlike the JPEG image format, GIFs uses lossless compression that does not degrade the quality of the image.

For the class of INF 115 we were assigned to create our own GIFs, using scenes from movies we like. The movies I chose were: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt.2 (2011) and I, Tonya (2017)

I chose Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt.2 because it is simply a movie I never get bored that also brings back good memories of when I was really into the Harry Potter universe. Deathly Hallows is also considered to be one of the best movies from the franchise, with 96% rotten tomatoes.

I also chose I, Tonya because it is certainly one of my favorite movies; it is just spectacular in my opinion–from it’s screenwriting to its acting, in which landed Margot Robbie (lead actress) a spot on the 2018 Academy Awards for Best Actress.

Here are the GIFs I made.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt.2

I chose to make these Harry Potter GIFs about Neville Longbottom’s character (played by Matthew Lewis) because he is a very under-appreciated character in the films, and these scenes were of major importance in the Harry Potter universe, as well as it is a milestone for Neville’s character development.

I, Tonya

I chose to make the I, Tonya movie GIFs from these two scenes because they represent a very important moment for Tonya, both in the movie and real-life Tonya Harding. I also simply consider these two scenes to be cinematically exhilarating.

I hope you enjoyed the GIFs!
